The Music Ministry at St. Ambrose provides music for our three diverse liturgies every Sunday. There are about 40 people; volunteers, semi-professionals and professionals that come together to lead the music at these services.
The music at the 8 a.m. Contemplative Mass is led by one of two pianists. On occasion, soloists will make a musical offering at this service.
The 9:15 a.m. Jazz Mass is a Rite II Eucharist with music led by the Saint Ambrose Jazz Mass Quartet. They provide rousing interpretations of hymns and service music from the Hymnal 1982 and the Lift Every Voice and Sing II Hymnal and instrumentals and vocals. The Saint Ambrose Jazz Mass Quartet is directed by Mr. Bobby Moody.
The 11:15 a.m. Traditional Service is usually a Traditional Mass with music led by the Saint Ambrose Choir. They sing anthems and songs from periods spanning over 300 years. They lead hymns from the Hymnal 1982 and the Lift Every Voice and Sing II Hymnal. Service music and psalms settings come from a variety of sources and change with every season in the church year. Rehearsals are Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.. The Saint Ambrose Choir is directed by Mr. Lewis Moore.
